Tales from the Seventh
Mortal and Immortal Races
Dorune contains a wide variety of mortal and immortal races suitable for use as player characters. Each possesses a rich history and unique abilities, skills, equipment, and vulnerabilities.

Humans
The only surviving sentient species native to Dorune, humankind was already ancient when the Twin Gods were thrown into this universe. The remains of vast civilizations can be found in every corner of the world, and practically nothing is known of these protean societies besides some architectural forms, fragments of legends and a handful of mysterious arcane artifacts. When they arrived, the Twin Gods found only scattered bands that had degenerated into savagery, ignorant of their once enlightened past. Nurturing them as allies in the battles they knew to come, they provided technology and magic in hopes of restoring their will and perspicacious nature. While quick to accept this endowment, many proved capricious and were quick to ally with the pursuing Morwaithe.

Teymari
The Teymari were once part of the Empire of Greater Thyrm far to the east of the formidable Blackfang Mountains. When the empire fell into civil war and impending dissolution, a number of noble families were forced into exile. They made their way to the northwestern coast of Tarazon and have subsequently carved out a new home. Rife with political intrigue and bursting with opportunity, the Kingdom of the Jewel Coast is a bright spot of hope in an uncertain and shrouded future.

Dakani
The wyvern riders of Mazradun struggle endlessly against the harsh elements and forces that dominate the frigid north polar continent. Renown for their skill at arms and indomitable spirit they are adventurers at heart, willing to risk all in the pursuit of anything that catches their fancie.

Ophedrean
The cursed descendants of the fallen Ophedrean Empire, the gray men are secretive and mysterious. While many have distinguished themselves in the mystic and scholarly arts, they are generally unwelcome abroad due to their legendary affliction. While the ability to take dark forms may seem advantageous to themselves, it is viewed with fear and apprehension by most.

Kadarian
Kadarians are jet skinned warriors who ride the plains and forests of Dark Kadar. Once a traditionally nomadic horse people, time has matured them into a formalized society. Where long ago small groups of clansmen roamed the plains, now companies of armored knights ride at behest of powerful Sovereigns. While relatively few in number, the Kadarians have held their own against invasions from both Wyrmwood and the jungles of the Tsombu. The Dominion of Dark Kadar is ruled from the ancient city of Shalizar where some of the greatest weaponsmiths and armorers have practiced their trade for thousands of years.

The Fey
Inhabitants of the Realm of Twilight, these fair and immortal peoples were bound to their domain until the dimensional barriers were shattered by the coming of the Twin Gods. Since that time, many have come to the Mortal Realm to provide aid across the ages. While the power of the Silver Veil still holds strong, at times it becomes weak enough for portals to be opened temporarily and the faerie folk to travel back and forth. While immortal and powerful, they cannot abide the touch of mortal iron, a toxic substance that destroys their bodies and poisons their souls.

Vaynari
Tall, beautiful and of noble bearing, some lords and ladies of the faerie dwell upon Dorune at the boon of the Twin Gods. They provide an opposition to the powers of Shadow from their crystal enclaves deep within the island of Aerudin. [details...]

Alvar
Cousins to the Vaynari, the Alvar are a clever little folk filled with laughter and mischief. Tolerated, though generally distained on their home realm of Twilight, they crossed to Dorune in great numbers when the original call came to counter the forces of Shadow. While most reside within the bounds of Ifengild, they are found the world over engaged in various mercantile endeavors.

Faevyn
These tiny dark skinned faerie people are secretive and private, inhabiting the deepest and most secluded swamps and marshes of western Moridor where visitors are rare and unwelcome. Originally Alvar who settled in Ifengild, they were taken during the War of the Seven and tainted by Shadow before being rescued at the end of that lengthy conflict. [details...]
