These tiny dark skinned faerie people are secretive and private, inhabiting the deepest and most secluded swamps and marshes of western Ifengild where visitors are rare and unwelcome.
Faevyn means 'fallen ones' in Alvish. Even though they are immortal, the mortality rate from violent death if steep.
Origin: These diminutive folk were once Alvar, distant cousins of their more noble brethern the Vaynari (silver elves). They crossed over to Dorune during the Third Age and settled the Ifengild region. During the War of the Seven the region was overrun by the forces of Shadow and thousands of Alvar were captured by Makadel the Moor Giant and his Shadowkin minions. They were tortured and warped terribly by sorcery until those that remained were eventually rescued. They were never completely accepted back into Alvar society so took up residence on the eastern edge of Ifengild in the Marshes. They eventually became quite proficient in hunting just about everything in the swamps, with a lot of hatred towards spiders, snakes and especially Makadel.
Appearance: Small and dark skinned with jet black hair. Pale blue or gray eyes.
Size: 3-3'6 feet tall.
They fashion all of their equipment from crafted from wood, bone, crystals, ivory, teeth and the like since they cant abide iron and it would be useless in the swamp anyways. They have an affinity for thrown weapons of many types and are especially known for throwing knives and seven pointed bone stars.
Because of their background, they can use some minor celestial and shadow abilities. They are adept at making enchanted dusts, powders, and poisons from rare and hazardous materials.
Young Faevyn start out as Apprentice Fangmasters - learning how to use their double fang carved long hunting knives, spears and bone throwing stars. Once they reach a certain level of skill, they can learn martial arts and the art of poisons and become a Marshwalker. Marshwalkers can also get deadly strike against serpents/spiders.

Long knives carved from the fangs of giant swamp serpents. These are not much use for slashing, but have sharp pointy tips that pierce well. They fashion throwing stars carved from serpent vertebrae and wooden spears tipped with giant spider fangs.
For protection they wear snakeskin and serpent scale armor. Some use serpent skull plates (from the forehead) to create tougher breastplates.
